9/11 Recovenanting Sunday
2011/12 Sunday school classes begin. Children entering kindergarten will begin staying for the full worship service.
Our classes will be divided into 4 groups:
2 and 3 Year Olds
(meet in nursery, travel to room 4)
4 Year Olds and Kindergarten
(meet in classroom 7)
First through Third Grade
(meet in classroom 6)
Fourth through Eighth Grade
(meet in the Youth Suite) |
A Note from Noell
Hello parents, teachers, and volunteers!
This summer we enjoyed learning about mission and hope at Vacation Bible School. It is my hope that those themes will continue to feed and nurture our children’s ministry program throughout the year. I also wanted to say a huge THANK YOU to all of the fabulous volunteers who helped make VBS successful. Our children (and the 7 children who visited) really seemed to enjoy their time together. You can read thank-you notes for the stationary we made for Camp Alkulana on the children’s bulletin board.
Several of the children who participated in VBS helped with worship leadership on youth Sunday. It is always a blessing to see children and youth help lead worship. If your children are interested in providing special music or reading scripture in future worship services, please let me know.
The Children’s Commission would like to celebrate the end of summer with a time of fellowship for the families of children and youth. We’ve planned a pool and pizza party for the end of August and hope you and your families will be able to join us.
The summer is quickly coming to a close and a new school year is upon us! We are making some adjustments to our Sunday School program to fit the needs of our group of children. If you are interested in teaching, shepherding, or being listed as a substitute for children and youth classes, please give me a call or send me an email.

Chiming Opportunities
Several of you have expressed interest in children learning to chime. Wanda has been chiming with the children in music time this summer and we used chimes during the closing for VBS each day. During the school year we will offer a children's chiming choir on the 4th Wednesday of each month. Join us for dinner and enjoy adult fellowship while the children learn to chime with Melissa Owens.
